We own all the equipment needed to machine every part of a heat exchanger or demanding process equipment — which means no outside vendors, better quality, and faster turnaround for you.
Because Harris Thermal machines all parts required to fabricate heat exchangers and other demanding process equipment, we also offer machining as a standalone service.
With our in-house capabilities we control nearly every facet of the fabrication process with precision. That independence from outside vendors translates directly into better quality and faster turnaround times for our customers.
Precision CNC drilling of tubesheets — including the very large tubesheets required for major heat exchangers — with the hole quality tube-to-tubesheet joints demand.
Shells, cones, and formed components rolled and braked in-house to exact tolerances — feeding straight into fabrication with zero vendor lead time.
Parts burning and water jet cutting for any profile, plus large diameter turning for flanges, heads, and rings on our heavy equipment.
Our capabilities page details the machines on our floor — from CNC drills to plate rolls — and what each lets us take on for you.
Tubesheets are the drilled plates that hold heat exchanger tubes; each hole must meet tight tolerances for the tube-to-tubesheet joint to seal under pressure and thermal cycling. Harris Thermal drills, reams, and chamfers tubesheets on CNC gantry mills, including a Quickmill with 144″ × 240″ travel for very large tubesheets.
Our boring mills turn up to 16.5 feet (198 inches) in diameter and 60 inches in height — large enough for tubesheet edges, serrated gasket surfaces, and body flanges on the biggest exchangers we build. CNC drilling and milling centers handle up to 120″ × 160″ in a single setup.
Both. Because we own all the equipment needed to machine every part of a heat exchanger, we offer machining as a standalone service — CNC tubesheet drilling, plate rolling, press brake forming, burning, waterjet cutting, and large diameter turning.
Every outside vendor in a fabrication chain adds lead time and schedule risk. With machining in-house, Harris Thermal controls nearly every facet of fabrication — which means faster turnaround, no waiting on subcontractors, and one point of accountability for quality.
Yes. Our 84″ × 168″ waterjet table manufactures baffles to TEMA tolerances, augmenting our CNC baffle drilling capability.
Send us your drawings and our machine bay will quote precision work with the turnaround only an in-house shop can offer.
